David DeVoe - Founder and Chief Executive Officer

David DeVoe founded DeVoe & Company in 2011 to help wealth management companies optimize their business decisions. The company has supported hundreds of firms in consulting, investment banking and valuation engagements since launch. David has been a thought leader on RIA practice management for 18 years and was named the 'RIA M&A Guru' by Barron's magazine.

Previously, he served as Managing Director of Strategic Business Development at Charles Schwab Advisor Services. In this role, he developed and led Schwab’s Transition Planning platform, which provides comprehensive M&A and succession planning services to registered investment advisors. During this eight-year period, he provided strategic counsel to over 500 advisors. Previously, David worked in the Business Strategy group at American Express.

David holds a BA degree from the University of California, Berkeley and an MBA from Cornell University Johnson Graduate School of Management.

Tim Kochis - Special AdvisorTim joined forces with DeVoe & Company in 2017 with a passion to build out the most comprehensive succession and continuity platform in the industry. Jane Williams - Special Advisor

Jane joined DeVoe & Company as a Special Advisor in 2020. Jane is Founder of Sand Hill Global Advisors, a $3.5 billion wealth management firm based in Palo Alto, California. She co-founded Sand Hill Global Advisors, as a female pioneer in the investment industry. Today, she sits on Sand Hill’s Executive Committee. Along with Sand Hill, Jane remains actively involved in working with individuals and families navigating significant life transitions.

A recognized expert in her field with over 40 years of experience with high net worth individuals, families, women, foundations, and endowments, Jane focuses her energy on supporting those high standards across the fiduciary side of the financial services industry. She champions high standards as fiduciaries and a commitment to improving the diversity of the industry. She has advocated through her role as Chair of the Board of Governors of the Investment Adviser Association (IAA), the organization that represents fiduciary advisors and investors to support the highest operating standards in the financial services industry.

Among other industry accolades, Jane is honored to have been a recipient of the Schwab IMPACT Leadership Award®.

Throughout her distinguished career, Jane has worked with a variety of non-profit organizations, including the Board of the Silicon Valley Community Foundation and its predecessor, the Peninsula Community Foundation; and the University of California Santa Barbara Foundation.

Peggy Ruhlin - Special Advisor

Peggy Ruhlin, CPA/PFS, CFP®, joined DeVoe & Company as a Special Advisor in 2020. Peggy is also the Chair of the Board of Directors at Budros, Ruhlin & Roe, Inc., a $3.5 billion wealth management firm based in Ohio. She joined the firm in 1987 and served as Chief Executive Officer for nearly 18 years. Under Peggy’s leadership, Budros, Ruhlin & Roe won the 2011 Schwab IMPACT Awards® Best in Business award.

Peggy is a Certified Public Accountant with a Personal Financial Specialist accreditation, and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certificant. She has served on many industry boards and committees, including the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards and the Schwab Advisor Services Advisory Board.

Peggy has been recognized as one of America’s most distinguished women in wealth management. Ed Moore - Special Advisor

Ed Moore joined DeVoe & Company as a Special Advisor in 2021. Most recently, Ed served as President of Edelman Financial Services, the nation’s largest independent RIA. Over his 30-year career at Edelman, he helped grow the firm from six people into a $230-billion enterprise with 1.1 million clients and 1,400 employees. In addition to overseeing the large-scale merger and integration of Edelman Financial Services and Financial Engines, Ed navigated the company through a series of sales to private equity firms and taking the firm private.

During his tenure, he helped lead the firm’s organic growth from one office to 45 offices with 150 planners from coast to coast. As part his leadership roles there, he led and helped train financial planners, served on the Executive committee, Investment committee and the firm’s Board of Directors.

Ed started his career with Waddell & Reed as a financial advisor. Ed has been a CFP® professional since 1991 and has served on the Board of Directors for the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc.

Shawn Lapean, Chief of Staff

Shawn joined DeVoe & Company in a new role of Chief of Staff at the end of 2022.

Shawn brought a diverse skill set from working at numerous financial services companies in a range of senior positions. He has a track record of leading companies through new periods of accelerated growth. Most recently, he was a Managing Director at Charles Schwab. 

He amassed a range of Investment Banking and Research experience at Merrill Lynch, FujiBank, and Macquarie Capital. Shawn is very familiar with the RIA Industry firsthand from his work at Schwab, and he also has experience working directly with private equity firms in fundraising and acquisition roles.

Shawn has a BA in Government and History from Cornell University. He has completed one year of the Securities Industry Institute (SII) three-year program, a partnership of Wharton and the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA).

Francine Miltenberger - Managing Director

Francine joined DeVoe & Company in 2012. She is an investment banker with more than 30 years of experience in M&A transactions in the Financial Service Industry as an acquirer, a seller and an investment banker.

Formerly, she was President of Kaspick & Company, a privately held asset management firm, where she revitalized operations, grew AUM from $3B to $4.5B and created an exit for the founders through a sale to TIAA-CREF. At PNC Bank, she was CEO & Division Executive of Treasury Management Services. At Chase Manhattan Bank, she held a number of positions in its Merger Office and Private Bank.

Brad Grubb - Managing Director

Brad joined DeVoe & Company in 2018. He brings 30+ years of financial services experience in wealth management, asset management, and banking.

Brad has led several multi-billion dollar AUM RIAs and banks that own RIAs, many of which he helped grow through acquisition. His roles included President of PSBT’s Wealth Management Group, Managing Director of Manarin Investment Counsel, President of Carson Wealth Management Group, and President and CEO of BancWest Investment Services. Earlier in his career, he held senior positions at Citigroup, Kemper Financial Institution Group, and consulted with Farmers Financial Services.

Doug Johnson - Managing Director

Doug joined DeVoe & Company in 2021 as a Managing Director and works with our clients on consulting and investment banking projects.

Doug has more than 20 years of senior-level RIA management experience as COO/CCO and consultant. Most recently, he served as COO/CCO at Parcion Private Wealth (~$2B) in Seattle. He oversaw an 80% AUM growth trajectory in the first 12 months of his tenure there. Prior to Parcion, Doug spent six years at The Ensemble Practice, where he supported RIAs and broker-dealers with business consulting and strategic planning. Doug also served in leadership positions at Columbia Pacific Capital Management and Lakeside Capital Management, among other firms.

Mark Wilcox - Managing Director
Mark joined DeVoe & Company as a Managing Director in 2021 to support the next phase of the company's growth. Mark is a 20-plus-year financial services veteran who has a track record of driving transformational growth and delivering innovative solutions. Most recently, Mark was the Chief Operating Officer at Stanford Federal Credit Union, where he led retail and distribution channels, sales, service, membership, and technology enhancements. Prior to Stanford Federal Credit Union, Mark was the Head of Corporate Strategy and Development at BNP Paribas, Bank of the West. His numerous previous appointments include leadership roles at Ernst & Young, Bank of America, Robertson Stephens, and FleetBoston.

Stacia Hatfield - Managing Director

Stacia joined DeVoe in 2022 as a Managing Director. She leads our programs that support advisors with accelerating their organic growth, as well as provides clients with a variety of other consulting support and M&A guidance. Stacia has been involved in various aspects of the RIA industry for over 20 years. She brings with her well-respected RIA growth training from AllianceBernstein, an understanding of custody and operational aspects of the business from TD Ameritrade, and strong business development know-how from senior sales positions at multiple asset management firms.

Prior to DeVoe & Company, she was a Vice President in the Private Wealth Group at Carlyle. Previously, she served as a Vice President, ETF Specialist for the RIA and Private Bank Channel at Oppenheimer Funds; a Regional Director for IndexIQ (NYLife | Mainstay), and a Business Development Manager for the RIA Channel at Russell. Earlier in her career, she held business development positions at AllianceBernstein and TD Ameritrade. Across all of these positions, she honed her business development skills and coached her team to territory and client growth.

Adam Levy, Managing Director

Adam returned to DeVoe & Company in 2022 after previously working with the company in 2014-2015. Adam is focused on delivering our valuation services to RIA clients. He is an experienced CFO and financial analyst.

He has held positions across multiple industries, including financial services, technology, and other professional services verticals. Most recently, he was the CFO at Talent, Inc a technology-enabled career services provider. Prior to that, he was the CFO at Helix Education, a technology-based enrollment platform for colleges and universities. Earlier in his career, Adam co-founded Deer Creek Capital Partners, a long/short alternative investment fund with $20MM in assets. He was also a Senior Equity Analyst at Invesco Funds Group.

Aryeh Malitzky - Associate Managing Director

Aryeh joined DeVoe & Company in 2018. He has over 10 years of experience providing M&A advice and valuation services to the Financial Services Industry and specifically to RIAs.

Previously, Aryeh was a Managing Director at InCap Group, Inc., a boutique Investment Bank exclusively serving RIAs. There, he helped RIAs buy, sell and merge, refined the company's valuation modeling and executed valuations, and supported many firms in their quest to raise capital. He led and supported over 50 engagements during his tenure, while overseeing the operations of the firm.

Alycia Deus - Senior Marketing Manager

Alycia joined DeVoe & Company in 2022. She brings more than 10 years of financial services and digital marketing experience to the firm including specializations in M&A, private equity and wealth management.

During her time at Allworth Financial, Alycia successfully developed the M&A Partner marketing program from the ground up, working with partner advisors and business development teams to develop the framework needed to find and attract like-minded M&A partners. During her tenure, she supported the successful acquisition of 13 firms and significant AUM growth.

Additionally, Alycia built and facilitated both the Allworth Women and Think Tank Groups - employee led forums designed to facilitate connection, strengthen culture, and provide leadership opportunities. Matt Tancredi - Senior Associate

Matt joined DeVoe & Company in 2021 and has over five years of experience in the financial services industry. He had accumulated a versatile background and skillset from his experiences in Mergers & Acquisitions and company valuations.

Previously, Matt was an Investment Consultant at Bank of America. Preston Deen - Senior Associate

Preston joined DeVoe & Company in 2021 with more than three years of experience in financial modeling, valuation, and client engagements. Most recently, Preston was a Senior Associate in the valuation group at RSM where he performed valuations of businesses, portfolio funds, and intangible assets for mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, and tax planning engagements. Ian Kravitz, Senior Associate

Ian Kravitz joined the DeVoe & Company team at the end of 2022. Most recently, Ian was an investment banking associate at Sun Mergers & Acquisitions, which serves middle-market clients. He developed a strong understanding of the RIA business model from two years at RegentAtlantic as an Investment Analyst.

He previously worked as an analyst at Ayco, a Goldman Sachs Company, where he focused on developing financial plans for clients. Ian leverages his combined experience in investment banking and RIA businesses to support the team and our clients.

Lynn joined DeVoe & Company in 2014 as Director of Operations. She supports the growth and operational elements of the organization as it continues to scale.

Lynn was an Investment Analyst at Principal Financial Securities, prior to raising her two sons. At Principal, she was responsible for following the Utilities industry and making trade recommendations for a team of over 600 stockbrokers. In this role, she also supervised the Research Department’s administrative team.

Previously, Lynn worked for George D. Bjurman & Associates, a Los Angeles-based $1B+ RIA / Wealth Manager, as an Associate Portfolio Manager. She holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Keri Hall - Business Operations Manager

Keri joined DeVoe & Company in 2018. She supports a growing list of operations and business management needs for the company. She leverages her more than 30 years of experience in administration, operations, and human resources to support the DeVoe & Company team.

Prior to her position at DeVoe & Company, Keri spent 12 years as Operations Manager of the equipment finance division at two large regional banks. At Washington Federal, she developed and managed the core business functions of the division. Keri was an original member of the team at Western Alliance that started the department and supported the growth of the portfolio to over $500 million. Before working in the banking sector, Keri worked in the hospitality industry and with several start-ups.

Jean Curler, Executive Assistant

Jean Curler joined DeVoe & Company at the beginning of 2023 as the executive assistant to David DeVoe. Jean has spent over 20 years providing administrative support to C-suite executives of numerous large and small companies.
